8/2/2023 0 Comments Kepware modbus server![]() ![]() ![]() I've heard of others using Siemens Industrial Ethernet libraries on RPI and a few other "fieldbus" protocols, but I'd suggest starting with simple protocols like those I've mentioned above. build a simple TCP interface and pass custom payloads over TCP to either Universal Device Driver or UCON build a simple HTTP server or client interface and pass the data to Kepware's Universal Device Driver Select the Device driver (Modbus Ethernet) that you want to assign to the channel. obtain an MQTT library and publish JSON to an MQTT broker, consuming the data with Kepware MQTT Client driver Run the KEPServerEX OPC Server to add a new channel and then click Next. Otherwise, in your custom code on the RPI, you coudl: If OPC Item is selected select browse and select the OPC Server and Item. ModbusSerialDriverHelp Settings-DataAccessGroup-Zerovs.OneBasedAddressing Iftheaddressnumberingconventionforthedevicestartsatoneasopposedtozero. If Tag is selected then select Browse and select the desired tag from the localhost system or optionally a remote system for transfer over a network. Here is a tutorial I found on the web (can't comment on quality, but hopefully it is helpful to get you started): Select the destination for the value to be sent. If you're familiar with Python, a library called PyModbus can be used to create a Modbus Server interface, at which point you can read data via Kepware's Modbus Ethernet driver. Many protocol interfaces are possible when building custom code on Raspberry Pi micro computers. ![]()
